HELP is an interactive project exploring the growing impact of ‘digital assistants’ and how they alter social interaction, privacy and day-to-day life. The artist invites you to question your relationship with technology by stepping into the shoes of an infamous smart speaker, reversing the conventional power dynamic of ‘owner’ and ‘helper’.

Technology manipulates the way we behave and feel in subtle and unexpected ways — but armed with a gadget that does whatever you demand, it’s easy to feel in control.

With every performance, the artist is listening and learning, developing in much the same way as artificial intelligence, finding new dialogues that increasingly engage apprehensive participants.
